Smoochiefrog's Review Blog: Aveeno Nourish+ Shampoo and Conditioner Review + Giveaway

I was recently asked by BzzAgent to do a review on the new Aveeno Nourish+ Hair Care Collection.

I have extremely odd hair. My hair is naturally curly and it is as coarse as can be. Soft has never been a term used to describe my hair. Ever. If you've seen the movie Pretty Woman my hair is kind of like Julia Roberts', only not near as nice looking and it's brown not red.

BzzAgent sent me a full sized bottle of both the Nourish+Revitalize shampoo and conditioner.

According to the packaging, this is the shampoo best to "help repair everyday damage to normal hair". (Yes, even with it's coarseness, my hair is considered normal; as it's not dry, color-treated, or fine and limp.) I read through all the literature that came with the review sample and gave it a shot.

Supposedly, I would notice a difference after only 3 uses. The website states that:

"In a clinical trial, 88% of women who used the NOURISH+ REVITALIZE regimen had shinier hair, and 92% had significant improvement in how soft their hair felt."

In all honesty, it's really true. My hair did feel healthier after only the first use, and even more so after 3. I normally style my hair shortly after washing it so I was not sure about the softness factor, until this past weekend. I had left my styling products at home when I went to the gym on Tuesday, so I was only able to wash and dry my hair. I was really surprised at how soft it felt once it dried (and with not so much frizz either! :P). I asked Mr. Smoochiefrog to feel my hair and his exact comment was "Soft." Gotta love that.

In addition to how my hair felt, the way it smelled was great too. The shampoo I tried had a slight appleish scent to it. It wasn't overpowering but was just subtle enough to notice. I hate it when shampoo smells so strong that its like it attacks your olfactory senses with a vice like grip.

All in all, I really like the Aveeno Nourish+ shampoo and conditioner. I totally recommend it if you're looking for a new shampoo that actually does what it claims to do. You can find the shampoo and conditioner at all fine retailers near you.
