Since Hurricane Irene messed up the school schedule by a couple of days, K's first day of school was today instead of Monday.
She was so excited about it, last night she planned her wardrobe for the first FIVE days of school. All her clothes are layed out in her room waiting to be worn. Nope, the OCD tendencies haven't abated yet.
This is the only year that both K and M will be in the same school. I just had to get a picture of the two of them together this morning.
Well dance season is finally over for the summer. We have been tragically busy for the last two months working on the end of season show. That was back on the 4th and it was great! The girls and their peers did wonderfully.
Earlier this week, they did a few dances for another end of season show that was a much smaller production than the one on the 4th. Mr. Frog was able to capture 3 dances on video while he was there (I was at a baseball game with B). I thought I'd share them with you since they're short and sweet.
One of K's dances from this year. She's on the right.
Here's one of M's dances. She's the little one in green. At the end, she's a little late getting to the middle due to another dancer being out of place.
Another of M's dances. She's the small one on the left. She comes in about the 45 second mark, leaves, comes back at the 1:30 mark, leaves again and comes back for good at the 3:30 mark - that time from the right side. She ends on the front left.
Earlier this month, the 7th to be exact, K was running on the sidewalk and face-planted. She tore her face up, and by the end of the night she looked like this:
Within a couple of days, it looked much worse.
I've spent the better of the last 24 days worrying about scarring and wondering what I could do to alleviate that possibility.
Today she looks like this:
It's still a little pink, but it looks much better than it did.
Hopefully, scarring won't be an issue after a couple more weeks of healing.
Me on the other hand, I woke up to my eye looking like this:
My eyelid is swollen so much that it hurts. I've taken Benadryl hoping it was an allergic reaction to something. The swelling went down a bit, but then came back. I've tried both hot and cold compresses. Again they worked for a little while, but the swelling came back again.
Any helpful ideas readers?
