• I took last week off from Friday Fragments.  I hope ya didn't miss me too much.  :)  I just had absolutely nothing going on, so I had nothing to write about.  Good times!  :)

• I was driving M to dance on Tuesday when I heard something strange on the radio.  I had been scanning stations and came across a hard rock station that was playing Bon Jovi (not the something strange).  I jammed until the song ended and the strains of the next song came through.  I kept thinking over and over that I knew the song, but just couldn't place it...until the lyrics started.  It scared the crap out of me.  Some songs just shouldn't be remade, ever.  It's kind of one of those you have to hear it to believe it. *Shudder*

• While I'm mentioning songs, what is the deal with You Found Me by The Fray?  I just don't get it.  It is just a carry over from the Gray's Anatomy theme song hit?  Neither is really a great song to me.  Anyone?

• B brought home his 3rd semester report card with all A's.  Yea!

• I got my eldest son's plane tickets purchased last week.  We're all excited.  He'll be here in less than 5 weeks.  Yea!

• When I was talking to D on the phone last night, we had a conversation about some things going on in his life.  He told me about some stuff he just had to deal with, and I got to tell him how proud I was of how he handled the whole situation.  It's scary when they have to make life decisions by themselves and all you can do is stand back and pray to God that you've done enough in teaching for them to make the right choices.  Last night I may have gotten a glimpse that I have.  *Gulp*

• We're still holding on to that one last Mickey Mouse fish.  Now we have another issue.  We have 4 large snails that have been doing a great job keeping the tank clean.  Now they've started to procreate.  I had no idea snails were shelled bunnies that live in water.  We now have 3 baby snails.  Well, we've seen 3 only once.  I'm thinking #3 got eaten by the sucker fish or something as we haven't seen it since.  We definitely have 2 babies though.  Baby snails are kinda cute, in a slimy sort of way.

• I've done pretty much nothing all week.  Gotta love Spring Break!  :)  I'm not sure I want next week to come!

• I subscribe to Food & Family magazine and love it!  I've made their recipes in the past, and they're usually pretty tasty.  You can check it out here.

• I might offend with this one, but what exactly is the draw with The Office?  It just doesn't do it for me.  I loved Steve Carell in Evan Almighty, but just can't get interested in The Office.  Anyone?

• Those lovely Mickey Mouse fish I spoke of a couple of weeks ago?  The ones I said we had we had 3 of?  Yeah, down to 1 now.  The other 2 died within days of me saying we had 3 left.  Let's see how long this one lasts now that I've spoken of him.

• B got his splint off Tuesday.  He has to keep his fingers taped together for another 3 weeks and then go back in for another check.  Good times.  (I can't do that.  My fingers won't work right!)  

• I, right now, weigh less than I did in May of last year.  This is a big deal to me for the following reason: I'm so not consistent.  I worked out like crazy last year from December 07 until May 08.  I had lost 17 lbs by then and crashed that truck right into the sidewall.  I think I worked out about 3-10 more times the rest of the year.  ACK!  I started back up again in January of this year after putting back on about 7lbs that I had lost.  I goofed around a bit, exercising here and there but got really serious when Lent started.  Since Lent began (Feb 24th), I've lost 10lbs.  That's about 1.5lbs per week, which is safe.  I need to lose another 10 before I go in for my physical next month.  I'm hoping to see that goal, as it is starting to come off a bit easier now.  The biggest thing, I just need to keep exercising!  Benefit?  My arms are starting to look kicking!  My shoulder muscles are appearing before my very eyes.  :)  Maybe I'll be able to look good in a tank top one day (in the far future).

• I'm still loving Kelly's song, but I've discovered Theory of a Deadman's Not Meant To Be and have been smitten!  LOVE this song! And yup, that is Kara from Idol as the chick.

• I am in love with Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck Without You.  I don't know why, but I can sing this song over and over at the top of my lungs.  The video is cute too.

• I need to be stopped.  I went into ULTA to get some hair mousse, and came out $40 later with a lot more than the $9 mousse.  Dang OPI polish and my lack of willpower.  ;) (Don't worry Mr. Smoochiefrog.  I didn't spend $32 on OPI.)

• B had a choral competition this week.  On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being best, his chorus scored a 2.  Not too bad!

• B and I went to get Rita's last night and there was a lady in there ragging on her son about what he wanted to order.  She drags a sick child out in public and then gives him grief for wanting a custard instead of an ice?  Stupid humans.

• My computer sucks.  Lately, at night only, I've been getting pop-ups like you wouldn't believe.  I HAVE a pop-up blocker and it's really getting on my nerves.  And they're not even good pop-ups; they're sports stories and sex ones.  Why can't they be good ones like for OPI polish or chocolate?

• We got our tax return in.  Now to just write that check to Maryland.  *Sigh*

• There is nothing more frustrating than getting all set to listen to your Ipod than to discover that it was left on and the battery is all drained.  *Sigh, again*

• B ended up not getting a cast for his finger.  They decided to let the splint do the job instead.  He'll wear it for another 2 weeks (3 weeks total) and then they'll see how it's doing.

• I spent all day Thursday getting work done on my car.  While waiting, I came to realize that too many people own cell phones and have no sense when it comes to keeping their voices low.  I now know all about a guy named John whose truck broke down, a guy that works for PNC bank whose Jeep windows fell out of his car, and a guy who refills the vending machine at the tire place and all his run-ins with the law over traffic incidents.  Hmmmmm.  I just noticed that all the offenders were men.  Coincidence?  I think not.

• Coldstone Creamery has a new flavor of ice cream; Chocolate Cake Batter.  I had my favorite from there, Peanut Butter Cup Perfection, made with the Chocolate Cake Batter ice cream instead of regular Chocolate.  Let me tell you if food could make a person go to that happy "O" place, this would definitely be what would make it happen.  To coin a word from my dear bloggy friend Rachel, it's Tonguegasmic!  Really it is.

• We got some new fish a few weeks ago.  I bought 5 of them and now we're down to 3.  The tadpoles love them because they make them smile.  They're called Mickey Mouse fish and they look like this:

• We had a great time at the circus Thursday.  It was fantabulous seeing all the joy on K's face throughout the show.  She would just light up and smile the biggest smile at something silly the clowns would do.  It was totally a priceless day.

• B came home from school on Wednesday and stuck a very swollen, purple finger in my face.  He had hurt it playing flag football during gym class.  After dinner, when we were shown he still couldn't make a fist, he was taken to the ER.  Turns out, he has a radial fracture.  He's in a hard splint for now with the probability of a cast next week.  Joy.

• I'm just curious, but who's bright idea was it to add scent to feminine products?  Especially a faux floral scent that is more reminiscent of Raid than flowers.  Just saying.  Refreshing scent FAIL.

• For the record when a green arrow turns yellow and then to a green circle, it doesn't mean you still have the right of way.  You have to wait for the person coming toward you to pass you before you can make your left hand turn.  That being said lady who was behind me at the light, if you ever honk at me again I will not hesitate to sit at the green light until just before it turns red and then go just to stick you there and piss you off more.  I know the rules of the road and maybe you need to learn them.

• Anyone else watch Idol and surprised by who was sent home?  I sure was.
