The final SYTYCD of the season is upon us.  Who will be America's favorite dancer?  Read on for a play by play synopsis.

• The show begins with the top 20 doing a group dance choreographed by Sonya Tayeh.

• Really?  I can get the choreographer judges, but Jesse Tyler Ferguson again?  Puh-lese.

• Mary chooses to see again Sasha and Kent's Tyce Diorio Contemporary dance.

• Nigel fchooses to see again Melanie and Marko's NappyTabs Hip Hop routine.  I love this dance too!

• Robin Antin chooses to see again Tadd and Lauren's Mandy Moore Jazz dance.

• Lil' C' chooses to see again Miranda and Robert's NappyTabs Hip Hop dance.

• Cat chooses to see again Tyce Diorio's Top 8 Circus routine.

• We're treated to a performance featuring the winner of the UK version of SYTYCD, Matt Flynt.  He's flanked by this season's Jess and Nick.

• Mary chooses to see again Melanie and Neil's Mandy Moore Contemporary dance

• Jesse chooses to see again Marko and Allison's Sonya Tayeh Contemporary dance.

• Tyce chooses to see again Sonya Tayeh's Top 10 girls Geisha dance.

• The dancer finishing 4th is Tadd

• Lil' C chooses to see again Chris and Ashley's Spencer Liff Broadway dance

• Nigel chooses to see again Sasha and Twitch's Chris Scott Hip Hop dance.  LOVE it!

• Sonya chooses to see again Chris Scott's Top 20 guys dance.

• Jesse chooses to see again Caitlynn and Pasha's Argentine Tango dance.

• Mary chooses to see again Melanie and Marko's Travis Wall Contemporary dance.

• The dancer finishing 3rd is Marko.

• For the last dance, Nigel chooses to see again Sasha and Melanie's Sonya Tayeh Jazz dance.

• America's favorite dancer is Melanie!  YEA!!!! 

SYTYCD Final Four in 11 points

Ricky and Caitlynn were sent home last week.  It was for the best.

Each pair is dancing three times tonight, once with an all-star partner, once with another contestant and once solo.  I can't wait to see some of the all-stars again!  MARK!!!!

• Oh look...Joey Potter is a guest judge.  After that catastrophe of a singing "dance" number she did a couple of years ago, I'm not quite sure why she's here.  Kenny Ortega, director of many of many movies is joining the panel as well

• Marko and Melanie danced a Disco number that bored me to tears.  They are great dancers, don't get me wrong, but they seriously need to retire disco from this show

• Sasha and Mark (from Season 4-guess it was a night off for the Lady Gaga tour) danced a Jazz dance that was intense.  I'm so tired of hearing Sasha referred to as a warrior.  Is she a good dancer?  Yes.  Do they need to keep hammering her toughness into our heads?  No

• Tadd and Joshua (from Season 4) danced a Hip Hop dance in which Tadd outdanced the all-star.  I don't think he's going to win the whole competition, but he's grown on me throughout the season

• Melanie and Robert (from Season 7) danced a Contemporary dance that was well done!  It such a pleasure to see Melanie dance in her own style

• Sasha and Marko danced a Broadway dance.  Marko was much better in this number than Sasha.  I just wasn't impressed with it so much

• Sasha and Tadd danced a Cha-Cha dance that had no chemistry.  They danced together, but not together.  Blech

• Marko and Lauren (from Season 7) danced a Contemporary dance that was filled with emotion.  It was a job well done.  Loved it

• Melanie and Tadd danced a Jazz dance that was a trip!  They worked really well together and had great chemistry.  I loved it

• Melanie and Sasha danced a Contemporary dance that to me didn't portray the concept the choreographer wanted.  It lacked something

• Marko and Tadd danced a Hip Hop dance (Gumboot Stepping?) that Marko, for lack of a better word, sucked at doing.  Tadd totally outdanced him here

I honestly am really tired of hearing all the talk of how great the girls are this season.  I personally think Melanie should win, as she's an amazing technical dancer.  I read an article yesterday stating Travis Wall thinks the same thing.  Unfortunately, America doesn't always vote for the best technical dancer, but their personal favorites (Seasons 2, 4, and 5 are proof of that).  Those tend to be the ones with the most personality.  If they follow that idea, Tadd has this in the bag.  I'll be happy with anything as long as Sasha doesn't win.  There's just something about her that I don't like, at all.  She's a great dancer, but something is just wrong.

SYTYCD Top 6 in 10 Points

Jess and Jordan were sent home last week.  I think it was time for him to go, but I would have rather seen Caitlynn go home before Jordan.

Each pair is dancing three times tonight, once with an all-star partner, once with another contestant and once solo.  I can't wait to see some of the all-stars again!  KENT!!!!  TWITCH!!!!  PASHA!!!!

• Christina Applegate?  O-kay.  Maybe she'll surprise me.  She doesn't seem to be as air-headed as others.  Lil' C! 

• Melanie and Twitch (from Season 4)(YAY!) danced a Hip Hop routine that was interesting.  Melanie looked awkward during this dance.  It wasn't my favorite, but the dancers are!  :)

• Sasha and Kent (from Season 7)(Squee!) danced a Contemporary dance that was absolutely amazing.  It was so unlike anything I've ever seen Tyce do.  Using a prop as simple as a wall.  Unreal.  It was awesome.  Yea for seeing Kent again!

• Marko and Janette (from Season 5) danced a Paso Doble.  Squee, Dmitry!  Ick on Janette.  I didn't like her in her season, and I still don't.  I didn't feel the connection between them, myself.  I thought Marko danced well though.

• Tadd and Ellenore (from Season 6) danced an absolutely odd Jazz dance.  Swinging from the chandelier, moves full of lust and UST, excuse me!  Tadd has some incredible leg extensions and pointes.  Wow!

• Ricky and Jaimie (from Season 3) danced a Contemporary routine that was pretty.  Jaimie still has it.  Her extensions are beautiful.  I wasn't enamoured by Ricky.

• Caitlynn and Pasha (from Season 3)(YUM!) danced a Samba dance that had absolutely no chemistry.  Caitlynn is out of her league compared to Sasha and Melanie.  It's time for her to go.

• Sasha and Ricky danced a Wacking dance (yeah, I looked it up and still don't have a freaking clue WTH it is).  Regardless of the genre, Sasha outdanced Ricky, totally.

• Melanie and Tadd danced a Broadway dance that was really good.  It was a pairing that I wasn't expecting to work as well as it did.  I enjoyed it.

• Marko and Caitlynn dance a Jazz dance that was powerful.  I could watch Marko dance all night.

SYTYCD Top 8 in 13 Points

Clarice and Mitchell went home last week.  I'm glad as I was so tired of his voice.  Weird I know, but it's my opinion.  :)

Onto the show!

• Rob Marshall?  Okay....  and Lady Gaga...meh.  She sounded like her Lennon frames were pinching her nose closed.  Thank goodness she lost them after the first dance

• Dance 1: Sasha and Pasha (YUM!) (from Season 3) opened the show with an odd Quickstep.  I didn't find it as awesome as the judges touted.  It was good though

• Dance 1: Caitlynn and Ivan (from Season 2) danced Hip Hop that was in the style I'm not fond of, smooth hip hop.  Caitlynn was totally out-danced by Ivan.  It was awesome to see him again.  :)

• Dance 1: Jordan and Ade (from Season 5) danced a Pop Jazz number that showcased Jordan's leg ability to the extreme  

• Dance 1: Melanie and Neil (YUM!) (from Season 3) danced a Contemporary dance that was absolutely amazing!  Neil shirtless, HELLO!  They were just perfect together, an evenly matched pair.  It was beautiful. 

• Dance 1: Ricky and Anya (from Season 3) danced a Jive that was filled with footwork that was crazy!  He may have a smile that the judges love, but a smile doesn't make one America's Favorite Dancer 

• Dance 1: Jess and Lauren (from Season 3) danced a Hip Hop dance that was not all that. Lauren out-danced him completely.  He's cute but doesn't do anything for me

• Dance 1: Tadd and Lauren (from Season 7) danced a Jazz number that was incredible.  These two worked so well together!  It was nice to see Lauren again

• Dance 1: Marko and Allison (from Season 3) danced a Contemporary number that was awesome.  They both dance so beautifully that they are a joy to watch

• Caitlynn and Tadd paired up for a Foxtrot that was classy and elegant

• Marko and Ricky paired up for a Hip Hop that was fun and enjoyable to watch.  Marko did better than Ricky though.

• Jess and Jordan paired up for a Rhumba that lacked the sex appeal ususally associated with a Rhumba.  It was two little kids playing pretend

• Melanie and Sasha paired up for a Jazz dance that was interesting to say the least.  I think we may have just seen the final two dancers for this season.

FINALLY!!!!  I'm so glad Ryan went home.  It's about time.  Alexander was at the end of his rope too.

• Doogie Howser is the guest judge tonight.  Cool.

• Marko and Chelsie Hightower (from Season 4) dance a Samba.  Her hips are crazy.  Marko did a great job!

• Jordan and Brandon (from Season 5) danced a tough Contemporary number.  That sucker was filled with so many technical points it was unreal.  Jordan was great!

• Tadd and Comfort (from Season 4) worked it out with Hip Hop.  They were a little off at one point, but Tadd did his thing well

• Mitchell and Melody (from Season 1) did a Broadway number that actually bored me.  I think it's time for Mitchell to go home

• Caitlynn and Pasha (YUM!) (from Season 3) did an Argentine Tango that was nicely done.  I don't think it was all that like the judges did, but it was good (I'm waiting for Fox to get the video up and then I'll link it here)

• Sasha and Twitch (Yea!) (from Season 4) did a Hip Hop routine that was absolutely perfect.  You would totally think that Sasha was a hip hop dancer; she did that well

• Jess and Katherine (from Season 6) did a Contemporary dance that didn't hold my interest at all.  In fact, I had completely forgetten it before I got around to writing this.  The little bit they showed in the ending synopsis was technically good, but still boring and forgettable (I'm waiting for Fox to get the video up and then I'll link it here)

• Melanie and Pasha (Yum, again!) did a Vienese Waltz that was very, very pretty.  The dance was elegant, beautiful and flowed so perfectly that words aren't enough to describe it

• Ricky and Allison (from Season 2) did a Broadway Jazz routine.  As much as I love Allison, I hated this dance.  It was different from what Tyce normally choreographs - which is good, but it was just weird to me

• Clarice and Robert (from Season 7) did a Bollywood routine that was fun to watch.  There was so much going on that you couldn't help but smile watching it
