Oh dear internets. It's been a busy weekend and boy do I have some stuff to share!
First and foremost, let's give the due props to the Giants for pulling it off! What a great game! At the end, I was literally watching through my fingertips. I was so afraid Brady was going to do one of his coveted long passes and take the win. I'm not a fan of either team (go Rams, even if you sucked this year), but I wanted anyone but the Patriots to win. (Sorry Kate.) This is probably one of the few times I can honestly say I watched the game for the game and not for the commercials (which pretty much stunk this year sans a couple cute ones). Archie's gotta be pretty proud to have his 2 boys win Super Bowls back to back.

I got to see two friends I hadn't seen in awhile yesterday. I hadn't seen Amy since I left my job in July to be a SAHM. It may not sound like a long time, but when you haven't seen a friend it is. It was good to see her and since I know she's reading-we WILL get together soon and do something, promise! I hadn't seen Melissa since 2004. They moved to England and just recently moved back to the states. I knew they were coming back before the holidays, but hadn't heard from her yet. On a hunch after church, I meandered down to their church and popped in to see if I could get a number for them. The pastor's wife said I had just missed them, gave me her number and I got in touch with her! We met up a Tar-jay of all places and visited, caught up, and considering she lives right down the highway from me we will definitely get together soon. Gosh I've missed her. You know how you sometimes have friends who will help you devour an entire Molten Chocolate Cake from Chili's and not even think twice about it? That's her! I'm so happy she's back in the states! It was great seeing both of them again.

After my walk down old friend lane, we made our way back home. Wanna know an easy way to scare your kids? Jam to "old music" while in the car. Loudly. JackFM was playing their top 102 best party songs of all time in preparation for all the Super Bowl parties. Talk about a blast! Something about driving along singing "Brick House" and "Wild Thing" (by Tone Loc) at the top of your lungs it just good times at it's finest. If you're curious as to the songs on the list, here ya go. I bookmarked it so I can have a great list to refer to for Ipod music. (I'm a little bitter my Marky Mark was only #84, but the song wasn't the greatest so eh)
Anyway
We get home and I crank up the tunes to dance to while waiting for the game. The girls were having a little too much fun and well, see for yourself:
K dancing to "Whomp, There It Is" by Tag Team. She's watching herself in the TV reflection.
And if that wasn't enough, M and K dancing to "Beat It" by Michael Jackson.
Good times.

So like I said, I was at Tar-jay yesterday. I had to get some stuff, one thing being drawers for K. Yes folks, that's right, we're embarking on potty training. Please pray for us as we undertake this process. I figured if she had some she liked, it would be a good place to start. We went to pick out Dora ones like these:
. Aren't they cute? We found them easily and then wandered over to pick up some baby wipes (for those times when the potty isn't our friend-and you know what I'm talking about if you have kids). I spotted more and went for a closer look. And there, hanging in all their Holy Grail glory were these:
. Needless to say, guess what we ended up getting? I know, surprising right? Since there was only one package of the ever so cute penguins (which BTW I'm starting to seriously feel outnumbered by), we got them, Dora, and these gems:
and
. Mr. Smoochiefrog laughed when I said that the 12 pairs should last one day. Little did he know.
Shortly after the above videos were shot, K came downstairs in her penguin ones. I wasn't ready to start today, but figured what the heck. We got her the little plastic cover and she wore them. For an hour. We tried to get her to potty twice during that hour. No dice. As we're getting ready to sit down and eat, we hear this voice say "I Pee-Peed". Yup, wet. Nope, nowhere near the potty. She was in a diaper for the rest of the evening.

I received my first blog award yesterday too! Angie over at Keep Believing bestowed upon me the following award:
Woot! I'd like to thank God for granting me the gift of gab, thanks to the Academy for all the... What? It's not that type of award? Well stink! Maybe one day. Thank you Angie! You're the bomb and I really appreciate it. If you have a minute, pop over and check out her blog. She's a great writer and I'm honored she found me and continues to come back. :)
Now I'm supposed to play fairy godmother and wave a wand to distribute this award to those deserving. I'll give it to...
Sasha-she keeps it real on a daily basis
Mrs. Furious-you should check out her food videos
Kate-she's like a much cooler version of me
