I made a mistake.
I was in a hurry, and I inadvertently picked up a box of these:
when I meant to pick up these:
I quickly learned my lesson, and I apologize.
No matter how much time it takes, I will never be able to burn the taste of those cupcake wannabes from my tastebuds. They were an abomination to all that is chocolate and should be taken off the market for even trying to achieve your greatness.
You guys are the originals and have my here-to-for undying devotion.
Sincerely,
Smoochiefrog
P.S. Yes, they really are that foul.

Now, I am hungry for Hostess cupcakes. I'll have to make sure I don't grab those imposters by mistake.

It is devastating when you are reaching for that special treat and realize you picked up an imposter.
Stopping by from SITS.

Mommy loves those Hostess cupcakes... just a tip: the 100 calorie version are not worth the bother - they have barely any cream in them!

Are they really that different?
I remember as a child BEGGING for one or the other of these and getting them as a treat just before we left for a trip to the beach. I remember loving them.
I had them again in my teenage years and despised them. In my early twenties, same reaction.
Now that I'm seeing your post, I'm wondering if the one I loved was one brand and the kind I've tried was a different brand. I honestly had NO IDEA there were two different kinds of these. So interesting!!
