BBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
We're heading out today on a quick getaway to NY (Heather-90 min E of Syracuse!) to visit family.
Looking forward to sun, baseballs (if you think you can figure that one out :P), soccer balls (again, just think), and chilling with nothing to answer to.
Yup totally disconnecting, like I've been around here much anyway. ;P
Last week we said goodbye to Contemporary dancerAshley & Latin Ballroom dancerMax. Anybody else totes surprised by Max's departure? I know I sure was!
Mia Michaels choreographed last week's group number to Higher Ground by Sevie Wonder. Awesome! I love Mia's choreography almost as much as Shane's.
On with tonight's show! Toni Basil is this week's guest judge. Um, really?
Couple #1:Karla (Contemporary Jazz dancer) & Jonathon (Salsa dancer)-Dancing a Hip Hop routine, choreographed by Dave Scott, to By My Side by Jadakiss (feat. Ne-Yo)-- I thought she did better than he did, that's for sure. Nigel was a bit rough though. He totes got up on the wrong side of the bed.
M: Good!
Couple #2:Asuka (Latin dancer) & Vitolio (Contemporary dancer)-Dancing a Jazz routine, choreographed by Mandy Moore, to Heartbreaker by Pat Benetar-- That was hard to watch. She just looked uncomfortable and like she was just doing the moves. There was no real spark to her dancing. Nice abs on Vitolio though. :)
M: Energetic!
Couple #3:Melissa (Classical Ballet dancer) & Ade (Contemporary dancer)-Dancing a Rumba routine, choreographed by Tony Meredith, to Emotion by Destiny's Child-- Dang on the dress! I wish I could pull off wearing a dress like that! After watching that dance, I need a cigarette and I don't smoke! Whew! It was wicked sensual and just what a Rumba should be! And can someone please shut Mary and her screams up????!!!!
M: Opted not to watch this dance as she doesn't like Melissa. ????
Couple #4:Janette (Salsa dancer) & Brandon (Contemporary dancer)-Dancing a Hip Hop routine, choreographed by Dave Scott, to What A World by Common-- This has the potential for disaster written all over it. I'm thinking that was a failed flair there by Brandon, and if I'm right it was really bad. Overall it was good though. I was pleasantly surprised.
M: Energetic and good.
Couple #5:Kayla ( Contemporary/Jazz dancer) & Kupono (Contemporary dancer)-Dancing a Viennese Waltz routine, choreographed by Jean-Marc Generaux, to Sweet Dreams for You by Jewel-- Beautiful dress and a beautiful routine. They did a really great job for being partnered for the first time.
M: I really loved it.
Couple #6:Randi (Jazz/Contemporary dancer) & Evan (Broadway dancer)-Dancing a Contemporary routine (aka the butt dance), choreographed by Mia Michaels, to Koop Island Blues by Koop (feat. Ane Brun) -- That was really cute! They did a great job! They work so well together!
M: Good.
Couple #7:Caitlin (Contemporary ballet dancer) & Jason (Contemporary dancer)-Dancing a Paso Doble routine, choreographed by Jean-Marc Generaux,to O' Fortuna (from Carmina Burana) by Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg & Kurt Prestel-- Nice Princess Leia inspired costume. *Snort* It was good, but I've seen better Paso's on DWTS.
M: Ooo la la! Good job.
Couple #8:Jeanine (Contemporary dancer) & Phillip (Hip Hop dancer)-Dancing a Broadway routine, choreographed by Tyce Diorio, to Moses from Singing in the Rain-- Cute dance! I noticed Phillip's split pants and laughed so hard. :)
M: Swingy and jazzy!
I'm almost hesitant to pick faves and bottoms as my choices last week were so freaking wrong. I'll try though.
My faves of the night are: Melissa & Ade, Randi & Evan, and Jeanine & Phillip.
My pick for the bottom 3 pairs are: Karla & Jonathan, Asuka & Vitolio, and Caitlin & Jason.
