Friday Fragments

Happy Friday y'all!  I decided to join Mrs. 4444's little Friday Fragments for the first time this week.  I hope I do it right, and I hope you enjoy!

• After being threatened by the dentist, B finally lost one of his canine teeth.  His permanent ones have grown in in front of the baby ones, causing them to protrude like tusks.  The dentist told him if the babies didn't come out within 2 months, he'd have to have them extracted.  It took B 26 days to get one out, now he's just got to work on the other one.  I so don't want to pay that bill!  Pray the other one comes out!

• Why does Clyde always decide to be wicked annoying and bark incessently once he's been let outside? To make it worse, it's always when I'm still in my jammies and there are people out there who can see me!  Stupid dog.

• I was going to give up chocolate for Lent.  I ate chocolate cereal on Wednesday and made brownies yesterday.  Can we say Lenten FAIL?  I've decided to give up giving things up instead.

• When is M ever going to memorize her multiplication facts?  It would make things so much easier, really it would.

• Last night was the final judging show before the finale of America's Best Dance Crew (heretofore known as ABDC).  There were 2 all girl crews and 1 all male crew left.  It just so happens that the male crew has Hok & Dominic from SYTYCD season 3 in it.  LOVE THEM!  For their final challenge, the crews had to put 5 forms of dance into their set: house, threading, krumping, tutting, and waving.  Quest killed it!  Just in case you missed it, here was their unbelievable dance from last night that sent them into the finals for next week.  It's just sick, sick, sick!

• Yesterday I posted a HORRIBLE picture I was in that someone posted on Facebook.  If you're still wondering which one I am, I'm in the God-awful pink dress.  BARF!  WHAT was I thinking?  Yea to those who guessed which one I was.  There is no prize for getting it right, other than kudos.  Sorry I subjected you to such a horrible pic with no rewards.

• Y'all see that cute little zebra over there on the right sidebar?  He's my new buddy for my rss feed.  Isn't he adorable?  I so love zebras, even when they're oddly colored.  :0)  I found him over at d:mirkku.  They also have Twitter birds and other rss animals to choose from.  Thanks to Amanda for showing me where to find him.

• I just saw a sneak peak of OPI's Brights Summer collection.  Not too impressed.  Really.  2 oranges, 1 blue, 1 purple, and a taupe.  Taupe?  In a brights collection?  Right, next.

I'm minding my own business checking my email yesterday and I get this message I've been tagged in a photo.  Now normally I wouldn't worry too much about this, but I was tagged by my best friend's sister.

Can we say blackmail type photos?

HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER, BATMAN!   

Would you just look at that atrocity!  Jeans with a tux top and cumberband?  Dyed to match shoes?  Lace around the collar?  Drop waisted dresses?  Hair with enough hairspray to withstand hurricane force winds?

I know the late '80s were bad, but this was ridiculous! 

I'm almost ashamed to admit I'm in that picture, let alone which one I am specifically.

So I won't.  Now if you guess, that's a different story!

Good luck with that.

P.S.  No this was not for prom.  Our church had an annual youth banquet that we used as an excuse to get all dressed up.  The guy was not the date of any of us but rather an older brother type who drove us all to the church.

Stepping Out of My Box

I'm branching out and trying something new.

Anyway Shannon did this back in September of last year and she met me, so I've finally decided to give it a shot myself.

What is it you may ask?

I'm gonna visit some blogs I've never visited before!

Hey now, this is a big deal for me.  I've got ones I've been visiting regularly since 2007!  For me to add some new ones to the mix is a big dealio!

So like anything else in the bloggy world, there are some regulations that must be followed...

The Rules (taken straight from Shannon's blog)

What you do is go to four of your favorite blogs and pick a blog from their blogroll that you've never visited or commented on.  You then add that blog to your blogroll or feed, read them for at least a month (by which time there should be no turning back!) and give them a chance to invade your life.  

Then duplicate the main part of this post with a note on whose blog you got it from.  Name the four new blogs you are going to read, tell briefly why you chose them and whose blogroll they came from.  And if you want, coerce others mercilessly into joining in!

So here we go....

First I chose Ohmommy and I couldn't find a standard blogroll on her blog!  I quickly figured out the I Read thingy in her sidebar and checked it out.  I chose Amy @ Milk Breath and Margaritas.  Just her blog title has me interested!

Next I went to my girl Sasha's blog.  Sasha and I go all the way back to the beginning of my bloggy days.  She was one of my first FIMH (you'd have to read her blog to know what that means) of the bloggy persuasion, and I've found a few blogs already that I like from her roll.  I chose Joy @ All Because Two People Fell in Love.  She has some mad scrapbooking skills and I so could learn from her.

My next choice was to pop over to Ronnica's pad.  I chose Aubrey @ The Fam Five from her list.  I chose it mainly b/c I love the name Aubrey.  Then I realized that she's been visiting me and has left me a few comments.  I felt like a heel immediately b/c I've visited her blog and failed to leave a comment until today.  Well now she's in my reader and I'll be commenting regularly.  :)

My last choice was BooMama's blog.  I found lots of great blogs there, but the ones I picked were either taking a break from blogging or going on vacation.  Uh, that sucks.  How can I meet new people when they're on vaca?

So I puttered back over to Shannon's blog (since she started this whole thing anyway) and found a great one.  Then I read down and discovered she's cutting back on her blogging too!  ARGH!  What's a girl to do????

I decided to add the ones I found on BooMama's blog, as well as the one from Shannon's blog, and just call it a night.

All told, I have added 7 new blogs to my blogroll (nope, just couldn't follow the "rules" and stop at 4).  That brings my total up to 101 in my reader. 

Oh my.  That's embarrassing.

So if you'd like to meet some new people, I'd suggest trying this.  Who knows who you might meet.

Or you can at least make me not feel so bad by sharing how many blogs are in your reader...but only if it's more than 101.  :)

I read online that some K-Mart stores were doing their double coupon event again this week.  In my paper today, there was a coupon for $1 off Colgate toothpaste.  Colgate usually retails for $2-$3, so with the double coupon possibility you may only have to pay $1 or less!  K-Mart doubles coupons often, and you can get some really great deals when they do.  Call your local store and see if they're doubling!
