I've been boo'd by Nessa!

Even though we don't do the typical Halloween celebration (we don't trick-or-treat), I will happily pass on the boo.  Nicole, Sasha, and Holly, consider yourselves boo'd!

Rambling Nowhere Fast II

Sorry guys.  I've got a few things to do the next few days, and this is the best post I can muster right now.  I've got a really good one planned for Monday, so that'll be worth coming back for right?  On with the bullets...

• I'm working on a baby shower cake for Saturday.  It's not terribly difficult, but time is not my friend on this one.

• After last night, I totally know why mama lions eat their young.  M had her final Cinderella performance and she did great!  The audience on the other hand were a bunch of animals.  After the show, the dancers passed out treat bags to the kids.  Well some of them decided to grab multiple bags out of the boxes and stuff them into their pockets and come back around saying they didn't get any candy.  At the end, there was no candy left for the dancers who were supposed to get bags too.  M was sad, but a trip to Robeks helped cheer her up.

• M has been complaining of her neck hurting since Friday.  After last year's bone infection situation, I called and got her an appointment to be seen instead of just waiting.  Thank God it's just a strained muscle.  Some light stretches, heat, and ibuprofen should make her like new.

• Since she had her appointment yesterday, we're a day behind on school.  We left at 9 and didn't get home until 3 (granted, not stopping for lunch and OPI probably would have gotten us home in time to get school done but it wouldn't have been as fun).  Then she had the performance and we're just going to have to do school on Saturday.  ACK!

• I am now the proud embarrassed owner of 5 new OPI nail colors.  Damn ULTA and their buy 2 get 1 free and JC Penney's buy 1 get 1 50% off sales.  I have no willpower.

• Speaking of willpower, I've signed up for so many Christmas swaps that I'm starting to shake.   Here are the ones I've joined:

• Why is it that no matter how many times you explain it, men choose what they want to learn how to do around the house?  I just listened to 2 voice mail messages that if Mr. Smoochiefrog would have listened to yesterday would have saved us both time!  I've only showed him how to check the messages a half dozen times.  He conveniently decides to not know how.  I guess it's due me as I don't know how to care for animals.  :)

• As if I don't have enough to do already, I'm working on cleaning up the website (which is why all those swap buttons aren't up on the sidebar).  I've decided I'm tired of seeing all that stuff everyday.  Don't ask me when it'll be finished.  Probably the second Thursday of Octemaryber.  Just something to watch for at some point in time.

• My bloggy friend Angie and her husband Brian are having a tough time right now.  Cancer is quite the mean brat.  All you prayer warriors, please hit the floor and send some words to Heaven.  I'm sure they'd appreciate it greatly.

• Nablopomo is happening again next month.  I'm going to try to join in again, but be forewarned twitter like posts may happen now and again.  So may memes, buttons, awards, and lists.  Saturday is the start day.  We'll see what happens!

I think that's enough rambling for now.  I've got cakes to bake and school to teach.  Later gators!

Mail Order Sucker

Evidently, I have sucker written on my face.   Either that or...well it's probably just that.

On the 15th, I ordered some items from Discount Dance Supply.  I'm trying to get a jump on Christmas shopping and found some cute stocking stuffers there.  I received confirmation of my order shipping on the 16th and I received it either the 18th or the 20th, can't remember.  Great right?

Uh, yeah.

This is the box that came in the mail...

Normal looking Priority Mail box, check.  Quick shipping, check.  Waste of space, check.  Oh, you want to see what was in the box?  Check it out...

For reference, that is an 8.5x11 receipt with two bag wrapped items lying on it.  The box was 11.5x15 in size.  You can see the items are small and don't even cover half the receipt.  Oh yeah, the receipt; it was folded in half in the box.

I paid $7.36 for shipping.  I weighed the items I purchased and they weighed 2oz.  Even in the gigantic box it only weighed 8oz.  According to the USPS website, shipping should have only been $4.75!

Yup, sucker.

But hey, at least I've got a start on Christmas shopping.  How are y'all doing in that department?  If you're done, please don't tell me.  I'd rather stay oblivious.  :)

The Clock Troll is Here

This weekend features the culmination of weeks of dance rehearsals for M.  She has performances of Cinderella both Saturday and Sunday nights.  She has really had a blast learning her part, she is a clock troll, and is looking forward to the performances this weekend.

There was a dress rehearsal Wednesday night and I was able to get a few shots.  Enjoy!
