Two years ago today I was in a hospital room praying for my newborn's life. Now you look at Miss Thing and Praise God there's nary a sign of the problems she had that day.
K was born on September 22, 2005 shortly before 8 in the morning. She weighed in at 8lbs 1oz. She spent 5 days in the hospital due to her inability to regulate her blood sugar. Nothing hurts a new (even for the 4th time) momma more than having to see your baby connected to tubes and wires and having to have her blood checked EVERY time she ate. Here's a picture of her with all her
monitoring devices. You can see they had to tape a board to her arm b/c she kept pulling her IV out when she moved. Let me tell you, all those wires sure made nursing hard! After she finally was able to regulate her sugar levels, she came home to a very anxious and loving group of siblings. She started growing by leaps and bounds and hasn't stopped since.
Here are a few pics from her first 2 years.

She fell down 4 steps here at home. She learned how to walk quite quickly due to the fact she couldn't crawl anymore. Shortly after this, she started having seizures that were finally attributed to her holding her breath. She's been seizure free for almost 2 years now.

Since we're in the middle of moving, we have kind of postponed her birthday celebration for a week or so. We did go out and have ice cream for dinner though. She totally enjoyed that! Who wouldn't?
Happy Birthday sweet baby girl! Mommy loves you very much!
